Burlington Synchronized Swimming Club

My daughter has been swimming with Burlington Synchronized Swimming Club for six years. Not only this is an excellent sports, she has learned so much about perseverance, teamwork, work ethic and more. These are all valuable lessons for life. She has made friends along the way and they have been supporting each other all this time. I am so happy BSSC is part of her life and has been helping her become a strong young woman. Yes there are volunteer work required for parents, but nobody should just take without giving. Actually parents have made friends too since our girls have been swimming together for so long.

My daughter has been in their rec program for three years now and she loves the programming. Always excited to go and she loves her instructor. Her coach is fun and encouraging!

We have had the best experience with BSSC. Our daughter started with the recreational program and is now a competitive athlete. She has learned about teamwork, sportsmanship, how to work hard, how to deal with disappointment and success. She has made friends and it keeps her active and healthy!

I became involved with BSSC this year after 13 years with another club. The coaches, families, and executive are all such lovely people. The swimmers are positive, inclusive and excited to learn and work hard. I am very grateful to be a part of this club. If you're looking for a fun, safe, encouraging atmosphere for your child/athlete, BSSC is definitely the place for you. I look forward to many more years here and to one day enroll my daughter/son in their programming! Three cheers for the B!!

My daughter is in her fourth year swimming for the Burlington Synchronized Swimming Club. She has not only grown as a swimmer, but as an athlete. The skills she has gained in goalsetting, problem solving, healthy living and mindfulness are amazing. The club has a real focus on the whole athlete!

I have been involved with BSSC for 11 years and have loved every second of it. The programs were fun and challenging and taught me teamwork, organization, and time management. The coaching staff have been great and supportive throughout my years and have consistently provided opportunities for leadership and development to all their athletes. I would highly recommend BSSC BEST as a great place to learn, grow, and develop as an athlete and as a person!

I swam for Burlington synchro for around 10 years and I had an amazing experience. My teammates became my sisters and the coaches were some of my greatest role models. We work hard and we have fun!

My daughter has been a member of the club for 6 years now. Starting in beginner and moving through novice to competitive. All of her coaches have been fantastic! My daughter has learned not only how to become a good athlete (training, nutrition, etc.), but she has also become well-rounded young woman. At 12-years-old, she now trains more than 16 hours a week on a high performance competitive team and has developed exceptional organizational, time management, and problem solving skills. The more she trains, the more she succeeds at school.Burlington Synchro encourages all athletes to give back to their community. My daughter has personally raised more than $4,000 for Breast Cancer Research through the club's Burning Bright campaign.All sports have risks for injury, and synchro is no different. Safety is a priority to the club, with all competitive athletes undergoing mandatory baseline concussion testing each year prior to the start of the season.The club is run by a volunteer board of directors and the athletes train with paid coaches and subject matter experts.

Very disappointing. We were very disappointed with the staff and how the program is run. There are a lot of volunteering and fundraising requirements which are required at some clubs and not at others but that is not why we were disappointed. You should just know this if you are considering synchro. There is also a high likelihood of concussion and you can pull up this information on the synchro Ontario website and google it for recent articles. That is why baseline testing is required for all swimmers. Either from hitting the pool or getting kicked.We came to synchro thinking it would be a relatively safe sport, fun and keeping up a lifetime skill in a interesting way.Two of my daughters friends came to the bring a friend try out. One left crying before even getting in the water and complained at how mean the coach was. She was right. Some of the staff have more experience and are calmer but not just me but anyone who came to watch complained about how mean the coaches were on my daughters team.We have experience with other swim clubs, and they were so much fun, having fun nights to break up the monotony. Hopefully they make some changes so things improve.
